about us

Who are we? Where are we going?

Followers of Jesus

We want to be wholeheartedly following after Jesus and becoming more like Him.

We are being conformed to the image of Jesus.

                                                                                                                                                     (Romans 8:29)
We long to see others come to faith in Jesus and for our lives to draw them to Him.

Worshipping God is central for us.
As we spend time in His presence we come to a deeper acceptance that we are the beloved of God.
We want to rely on the power of the Holy Spirit and to train every member of the church to use the gifts of the Spirit to hear God and bring healing and wholeness to others.

Living Life to the Full

Each of us is learning and growing as we come closer to God. In many ways we are the project, like an unfinished carving, moving towards the person God made us to be.

                                                                          Jesus said I have come that you may have life;

life in all its fullness. (John 10:10)

In Vineyard we want to be activists. As we respond to God’s call we are to be passionate, throwing
ourselves at life like a wasp in a cake shop!

Don’t ask what the world needs

but ask ‘what makes you come alive

and go, do it, for what the world needs

is people who have come alive! John Eldredge

A Loving Community

Friendship is very important to us. We want to be a church where everyone is known and where we are hospitable to one another.
Our relationship with each other is the criterion the world uses

to judge whether our message is truthful.                      Schaeffer

Informal style, acceptance, diversity, creativity are important to us. We welcome all who want to journey with us. Each has a unique role to play.
We want to create a safe place for
individuals to grow in their faith, learn from the Bible, explore their experiences of God and find a place to belong.

The Christian life is not impossible, it is just unusual!

We value all the other churches in Cambridge, keenly aware that we do not journey alone.

Helping Others

We want to extend the Kingdom of God in any way we can. We want to be involved with society, each of us finding places where we can make a difference. We try to serve others as individuals and join in projects together as a church community. We also support work overseas with the poor, particularly in Romania, Bangladesh and Peru.
Generosity to others and to one
another is very important to us in Vineyard. We long for this to become a hallmark of our church community.

If you want to build a ship, don’t drum up the men to

gather the wood, divide the work and give orders.

Instead teach them to yearn for the vast and

                                                                                    endless sea.
